The Department of Business Economics was established in 1942 to be one of the departments under the new Ministry of Commerce. It was called the Department of Information when it was first established and incorporated the statistic forecast division of the Office of the Prime Minister to be under this department. In 1975 Department of Information was renamed Department of Business Economics. After Royal Thai Government reformation in October 2002 Department of Business Economics was renamed Department of Trade Negotiations.
Note. From 5 May 1942 to 16 Oct 1951, there were three acting Director General as follows: - Mr. Yol Samanond - M.R. Jittrin Kasemsri - Luang Pisoot Panichlaxana
