Cookie Policy
Introduction
Policy on the use of cookies provides information on various types of cookies and similar technology used on websites and in electronic transaction services (hereinafter known collectively as the “Website”), controlled and managed by the Department of Trade Negotiations (hereinafter called as the “DTN”). This policy explains how and why the DTN uses cookies.
1. What are Cookies?
Cookies are small data files stored in the form of text files. The DTN Website sends cookies to your browser and cookies may be recorded on your computer or the device when you visit a website or use an online service. Cookies have the significant benefits of making the Website remember your preferences or settings on your device. You can search for more information on cookies at www.allaboutcookies.org
2. How does the DTN use Cookies?
The DTN uses cookies and other similar technologies for the following purposes:
- To memorize your browser data and settings, to facilitate the use of website services continuously and to enhance your experience and satisfaction on the use of our website services.
- To assess efficiency and results of website services that remain poor and need improvement.
- To collect and analyze website visits and service utilization data in order to help the DTN understand what interests of people are and how DTN services are used.
- To enable the DTN to deliver better website service experiences to you and to help us deliver services and public relations that meet your interests.
DTN services may be provided separately on several Websites. Each Website may use cookies for one or more purposes, which you can see in details from the types of cookies used on that particular website.
3. What cookies are used by the DTN?
The DTN Website uses its own cookies (First party cookies) and Third-party cookies, determined and set by outside service providers, such as Google Analytic, in order to enhance working qualities of the DTN Website. Based on storages, cookies used by the DTN may be divided into the following two types:
• Session Cookies: also known as 'temporary cookies', help websites recognize users and the information provided when you navigate through the DTN Website, for example, session cookies monitor the language settings and selections, etc. Session cookies only retain information about a user's activities for as long as you are on the website, and are deleted from your computer or devices when you leave the website or the web browser is closed.
• Persistent Cookie: also known as ‘permanent cookies’, remain in operation for a specified period of time or until you delete them. This type of cookie facilitates your use of the website services and helps the DTN Website to remember login details and other settings so you don’t need to re-enter them every time you return to use our website services.
Based on the purpose of usage, the DTN uses three types of cookies as follows:
• Strictly Necessary Cookies: This type of cookie is essential for the DTN Website services to provide basic functions or to access particular features of it so as to enable users to browse and explore our website. Closing the use of strictly necessary cookies, main services of the DTN Website that need this type of cookies would not function properly.
• Performance Cookies: This type of cookie helps the DTN monitor the performance of its websites and how users interact with DTN Website services, including which pages of the website are most frequently visited, as well as any other data analysis. These cookies also provide information that allows the DTN to improve our website performance and to understand user behaviors. However, these cookies do not collect identifiable information on visitors, which means all the data collected is anonymous and only used for statistical analysis. Blocking the use of performance cookies would prevent counting the number of visitors to the website as well as would not be able to analyze the website service quality.
• Functional Cookies: Functional cookies would enable the DTN websites to remember your preferences settings and help the website deliver additional features and content to suit your use. For example, remembering user account by saving name and password on our websites, or recognizing changes in settings such as font sizes or other modified page settings. Closing this type of cookies may prevent the website from functioning completely.
As abovementioned, the DTN services may be provided separately on several websites. Therefore, each website may use different types of cookies as appropriate and necessary for providing such services. The DTN will display information, name and detail of each type of cookies used in the website’s first page of each service, in form of banner informing the use of cookies.
